The People & Communications team at KONE enables business performance and competitiveness through engaged and capable people, strong reputation management, impactful internal and external communications, and great employee experiences. We bring our company strategy to life, supporting competence, capability and culture development as well as strengthening the KONE purpose and company story for all our stakeholders. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to focus on a diverse range of topics, while also working closely with our businesses, to help drive the People & Communications priorities.

We are now looking for a creative and sharp-penned

Editor-in-Chief

to lead our editorial content! Be it external or internal, you know how to grab our audiences’ attention and get them hooked. You think like a journalist and practically exhale good content. With your witty quill, you will support us in our ambition to become the true thought leader in our industry – and beyond.

This is a fixed-term Communications Manager position in the Content and dialogue team (part of our Global Communications Center of Expertise) lasting until the beginning of June 2026, with a start date as soon as possible. Our work mode is hybrid and the primary location for this role is Espoo, Finland.

In this role, you will get to drive:

  • Editorial leadership: You will provide editorial direction and leadership for our channels internally (intranet, Viva Engage) and externally (kone.com). One of your main tasks is to run our content calendar and host our meetings for content planning and brainstorming.
  • Content excellence: You will create, curate, and oversee high-quality, engaging, and compelling content that resonates with our audiences. You will ensure our content supports KONE’s strategy, key business themes, and launches. Additionally, you will coach team members and stakeholders on their communication skills.
  • Audience engagement: You will foster meaningful interactions with our audience and steer the listening and monitoring activities. You will co-host the Newsdesk segment in our internal TV program and encourage dialogue and engagement with our frontline colleagues.
  • Performance optimization: You will follow and analyze content metrics and performance data to optimize our content.
  • Content strategy: You will drive our content strategy with creative campaigns and content pieces defined in our newly refreshed content strategy.
  • Stakeholder management: You will foster and develop collaboration with our internal KONE network – especially our marketing colleagues – by organizing editorial catchups. You will keep our key stakeholders updated on content desk highlights on a monthly basis.
  • Executive communications: You will also get to support our top leadership in various communications activities – whether it be in written or video format.

This position is for you, if you have

  • 5-10 years of hands-on work experience in managing and editing content, preferably in a multinational b2b environment and/or English-speaking journalism
  • an eagle-eye for detail and good organizational skills
  • understanding and experience of well-performing content in the corporate world, both internal and external
  • proven track record of successful content management
  • native level storytelling, writing, editing and verbal communication skills in English
  • an inner wordsmith within you, ready to raise eyebrows with great content
  • brilliance in digital content creation in various formats
  • ability to put a creative spin on the sometimes admittedly dull corporate topics (let’s face it – not every update is the most exciting thing to write about!)
  • suitable academic degree, preferably in journalism, corporate communications, or marketing
  • ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously in pressured situations
  • motivation and excitement to jump into various projects
  • experience in influencing people

What do we bring to the table?

We offer you an interesting and challenging position in a dynamic and international working environment – and a stellar team that feels like home.

At KONE, we shape the future of cities, so what are you waiting for? Step into the elevator and join our flow!
